Two simple reasons: I want to drive traffic HERE to my website since I’m not selling my albums through LJ, and I’d rather just check ONE message board than have to check several. I want my visitors showing up here more than on LJ.

If you think about about it. Hoover Dam was build around the time of a depression and as Matthew said, the space program was built around the time of another depression.

Being an American has been pretty easy, lately. You just sit and get fat. That’s what being an American has meant. We’ve not had any fight to us to do anything. Sure, there’s Iraq, and Afghanistan, and Terrorism, but Americans by and large are just tired of that and so they ignore it for the “fearmongering” it is.

We need a new mission, a new focus, a new goal.

I hope Obama, for all his Kennedy like comparisons, gets up there on the stage after being elected, and pulls a Kennedy like line.

I hope he says “We will be using 100% alternative energy by the end of the next decade.” Can you imagine that? Holy crap. It’d bond the nation like nothing else.

I was a bit bummed that both candidates dodged the question of which approach they thought was better. Either a Manhattan Project approach or a series of a thousand garages like Silicon Valley. I thought it was an amazing question and neither took the opportunity to answer it.

I agree with you fully though. We WILL pull through this.
