With all due respect to Scott Bourne, birds do indeed dream. No, not of fish… at least, not all the time. Some of them dream of music, lights, smoke, and Robot Bass Players.

Every Birdy Needs A Robot by Stampy

A fan of my weekly UStream shows sent me this fabulous piece of original art a couple days ago and, with permission, I’m posting it here. This is one of the single most impressive chunks of awesome anyone’s ever thrown at me. Not only did Stampy catch my fascination with osprey, my laptop with red case and sticker, my M-Audio keyboard, and even the ugly-ass Exit sign that lived behind me at my New Hampshire gigs, but check out the robot playing bass behind me.

Yup, that’s Prodo-1, my faithful co-host from High Orbit and snarky sidekick from Goodbye Planet Earth.

It’s stuff like this that reminds me why I do what I do. Thank you, Stampy, and all the others that have been sending in photos and art! Birds dream of having fans like you.

    Awesome. Shame he beat me to the punch, I've been working on a picture for a while, too! But it's nowhere near this spectacular. This piece quickly grew to be my absolute favorite of everything he's made, and with his friends pushing him on and nitpicking via Ustream (isn't that the best thing ever?) while he was drawing it, the polish came out fantastic, too.

    You deserve this attention, Stamps! And Matt, look forward to at least one more picture sometime very soon. Just don't expect to be this blown away by it…

    I watched him make it mostly from start to finish and had lots of fun viewing the whole process! He worked hard and you sure deserved it as well Matt!

    Wow, I most certainly wasn't expecting this much of a response from you! Thanks a lot Matt! It really has made my day that you like it enough to post that!

    Anyway, as Hera and Rox mentioned down there, I did in fact draw it on UStream, which was awesome, as it meant I was getting live critique thrown at me from my three regular watchers, particularly towards the end in the polishing stages, which helped an awful lot!

    Anyway, thanks a lot for posting this. I'm just really glad you like it!

    Awesome. I saw and commented on this on Stampy's DA page, but it bares repeating. n.n Stampy's the one that got me interested in your music in the first place, and this is a great tribute.

    I am surprised you don't have more publicity. Your songs are AWESOME! “This Too Shall Pass” keeps me going when I have to put up with the boss from h-e-double-hockey-sticks. XD Which is pretty much every day. <.< The woman just will NOT get off my back about the tiniest things! (I can't watch your ustreams because I have to work at that time…Otherwise I'd SO be there!)

    Anyway…I digress. The point is, your music ROCKS, and so does Stampy's tribute! n.n
