It’s Radio Time

News

Old RadioI’m happy to announce that my music is hitting college and good old-fashioned mainstream RADIO stations in the US. The folks over at Tinderbox are working hard to put Goodbye Planet Earth in the rotation at a bunch of college stations.

I could seriously use your help, however, making sure those stations keep playing my stuff. Over at the fan site they’re keeping a list of the latest stations that have added me to their playlists. If you can call in and request one of my tunes from time to time, it’ll make a big impression!

I’ll also post the updates right here and in the sidebar whenever there are new stations added to the list:

WISU 89.7 FM
812-237-3690
Terre Haute, IN

WECS 90.1 FM
860-465-5354
Willimantic, CT

KWSS 106.7 FM
(Thanks to DJ Dani Cutler)
Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ
480-551-1067

Also streaming live at
Lasell College Radio
Newton, MA
617-243-2464

The full list is kept at matthewebel.net

    :D
    Yeah, something about those M's.
  • Er, Mike Simmons. I just realized that every commenter on this thread so far is named Mike.
  • Mike-

Actually, it'd be selling out if I or my record label (which I don't have) was paying the station to play me. The stations we're sending to are mostly college stations which are, by definition, independent. The students or a faculty member pick the tunes and they only play music they like. College and Indie radio are pretty much the last bastions of the good radio model.

That being said, if ClearChannel wants to put my music on their networks, I'd be fine with that too. The catch is that ClearChannel won't want to play my stuff because I'm not tied to a quarter-million-dollar PR budget.

But just think, Willis, Corporate Radio means selling out...and we don't want good ol' Matthew to do that now, do we?
  • Hey Mathew, congrats.
I gotta get you to come play for your freezing brethren up North ! Don't forget about Canada when you blast out of the stratosphere on your world tour! You're always welcome at my place if you ever come to Ottawa...no we don't live in igloos, and yes we actually have a decent local music scene. Cheers mate!
