The Myxercycle Part Five – Advances in Butt Technology

Blog Environment Myxer

The electric bike has become a regular part of life for me now… but repetitive jolts to the hindquarters don’t have to be.

The Myxercycle was made possible by the folks over at Myxer. Go with it!

If you want to try one of these bike kits, check ‘em out over at electricrider.com

I must say I am very jealous that you live next to Harris Cyclery. Have you heard of Sheldon Brown? About your seat, it looks like it was angled up a little when you took it out of the garage. That would make your butt slide back too much. I keep my seat as level as possible, but seat angle is a personal preference. Also keep an allen wrench set with so you can make minor fit adjustments as you get used to your bicycle, plus most repairs require an allen set. I am also jealous of your crystalyte motor. Lucky.
  • Oh yes, I've been to Sheldon's site frequently. It's how I figured out how to maintain my bike. I never ride without my bike multi-tool on me- Allen wrenches, spoke tool, screwdriver, etc.

As for the seat angle, It's taken me a few rides to find the right angle. I want my butt to sit a bit back, over the springs, so when I hit bumps at 25mph my tailbone doesn't shatter. ;)
