A few quick news flashes for you on a Friday…
First of all, Goodbye Planet Earth is now available for direct purchase via CD Baby. You can grab a copy either as a round piece of plastic or save some packaging and get it as an MP3 album for the same price. No DRM, no trash.
If you’re the MySpacing type, you can also grab DRM-free MP3’s from http://myspace.com/matthewebelmusic as well. It’s all the same price, so just pick your favorite store.
Also, I’ll be giving away one free song to anyone who can get a friend to sign up for the email list. If you can convince someone to sign up and list your email as a referral, I’ll send both of you an exclusive track I’ll be recording in January. If you’re not already signed up for the mailing list, just visit http://matthewebel.com/signup or hit the signup forms all over this blog.
[tag]Derek Sivers[/tag], founder of [tag]CD Baby[/tag] and all-around cool guy, recently came to my [tag]podcast[/tag] for an interview. We talked about the origins of the industry’s hottest online retailer, the future of [tag]music[/tag], and [tag]electric tuba[/tag] music.

Well, not all from my [tag]CD[/tag] sales, but that’s how much fans like you raised by buying CD’s from [tag]CD Baby[/tag] over the past weeks. The grand total came to $205,060 from CD Baby and CD Baby artists. Thanks so much for helping out the victims of [tag]Hurricane Katrina[/tag]- enjoy the music!
Oh, and since CD Baby shut down the promotion, all CD sales are now back to normal. Keep your eyes peeled for the new album, too, it’ll be available soon!
Though [tag]Nashville[/tag] remained relatively unscathed, other parts of the southeast weren’t so lucky in the wake of [tag]Hurricane Katrina[/tag]. Now, thanks to [tag]CD Baby[/tag] and the [tag]American Red Cross[/tag], we can do something about it.
Until further notice, all profits from my [tag]CD[/tag]’s sold at [tag]CDBaby.com[/tag] will go directly to the American [tag]Red Cross[/tag].
For more details visit CD Baby’s Website and read the article from Derek. To pick up one of my CD’s, just visit my CD Baby page.
(Note: This does not apply to pre-orders of “[tag]Beer & Coffee[/tag]” or to any [tag]iTunes[/tag] sales, just orders from CDBaby.com)
