Okay, so normally I don’t cross-post stuff from my [tag]podcast[/tag] [tag]High Orbit[/tag], but this is too good not to share. I brought [tag]CC Chapman[/tag]‘s sisters Cass and Kim over to the studio to record an episode, and they brought some great stuff with them.

Like, for example, audio tapes of CC when he was 5 years old. And some stories about [tag]childhood[/tag]. And some [tag]college radio[/tag] clips.

Things are looking up. I’ve been growing my business through corporate clients and studio work, landing me enough capital to last through the summer. Now all I have to do is survive to 2008.

I also grabbed a helpful DVD from Uncle Sam called A Virtual Small Business Tax Workshop (definitely a government name). Hopefully this’ll help unravel the web of tax crap as I figure out how to stay… you know, legal.

I just got laid off from my [tag]day job[/tag], I’ve got 44 days to turn my entertainment business into something that pays the bills. Want to listen in on how I’m going to do it? Want to be a part of the effort?

I know that right now the über-cool thing to do is play a concert in [tag]Second Life[/tag]. The problem with a show in SL is that you can have, at most, about 50 fans attending. Not to mention that one could very easily put on a “concert” that’s nothing more than a pre-recorded “live-esque” soundtrack, ensuring that you never miss a note and never drop a rhythm.

If it’s possible to be less legit than [tag]Milli Vanilli[/tag], SL makes it happen.

Now this isn’t to say I’ll never play a show in SL. I do think the developing technology is quite cool. However, all the hype and attention it’s getting just doesn’t equate to how cool a real [tag]First Life[/tag] concert tour can be.

So please… do yourself and the music a favor, and step away from the computer. Go downtown. Watch a real musician perform onstage. Your social life will thank you.

After a full week of real work, the biggest obstacle is time management. That and a car that refuses to stay in one piece.

Also, nothing pisses off your old employer like talking about your paycheck to the local newspaper.

I’m finally back from vacation and got tagged by [tag]Chris Penn[/tag] at the [tag]Financial Aid Podcast[/tag] to pick 5 [tag]podsafe songs[/tag] that’d make great [tag]music videos[/tag].

Okay, I’ll recuse my own songs except for one… filling the list with my own stuff would be exceptionally lame. However, I think one in particular would make a hell of a good video. If you had the patience to film it.

Okay, so who’s the biggest [tag]rock and roll[/tag] fan out there? [tag]Michael Butler[/tag]? Nope. [tag]Gene Simmons[/tag]? Nope. [tag]Henry Rollins[/tag]? Close… but not really.

If you guessed the [tag]Seminole Indian Tribe[/tag], you’d be crazy. And, as luck would have it, correct. Who knew that they now possess the largest collection of rock memorabilia? That collection now includes a bunch of restaurants with giant guitars posted outside of them, and their accompanying hotels and casinos.

[tag]Indians[/tag] own the [tag]Hard Rock Cafe[/tag]? I don’t know why that surprises me, but I think it’s pretty cool. Eat your heart out, [tag]Jim Boyd[/tag].
