She Will Set You Free live at FWA

I never really have a problem with being filmed during a concert… I think it’s great that people want to keep the moment going long after the show is over. Fortunately, most of my fans post their vids online when they’re done.

I debuted She Will Set You Free at FWA last weekend, and Marcus Noble was there to catch it. Check it out!

Best. Fan Video. EVER.

A while ago I had a young filmmaker ask my permission to use one of my songs as a music video project. He and his friends create films, practice martial arts, and have an incredible sense of humor. I’d say more, but I think the video more than speaks for itself…

My favorite part about all this? I’ve never met these guys. In fact, I’ve never been to the continent they live on. They just found my music and decided to create something awesome to go with it.

This also made me realize that I need to start working on my own Ninja Beer recipe. Definitely high-gravity, something that’ll sneak up and kill you.

You Want A Piece Of This?

You can own a piece of my next album AND help me finance the recording!

I’ve recently become aware of what may be the coolest thing to happen to indie musicians, like, ever. It’s called SellABand. I’ve put myself up as a sort of publicly-traded company and folks like YOU can actually buy a share of my next album. They set the financial goal (I have no control over that), but when I reach it I’ll be doing a lot more than recording in my basement…

Everybody Needs A Pirate… Er, I Mean…

What happens when you take your average, everyday Pirate Festival and add a healthy dose of Ninja? Well… let’s just say interesting ensues. These hard-working Ninjas- one might even go so far as to say Full-Time Ninjas, simply wanted their voices to be heard. Wait, Ninjas are silent, aren’t they? Where was I going with this again?

Nevermind, just watch the video and see what happens when these two worlds collide.

(Yeah, that’s my song in the middle of it all.) And don’t forget to see what these hard-working Ninjas are up to over at www.fulltimeninjas.com

Coming Soon… I Can Fly

A video preview of what’s coming next for the All-Access and VIP subscribers over at Matthew Ebel dot net.

Greetings, Ninja Fans!

Hi there! If you’re wondering what happened to the YouTube video of Ninjas and Pirates, don’t fret. The producers of the video have apologized profusely for using my music without asking permission beforehand. I didn’t expect YouTube to act so fast either, considering I’m not an evil minion of the RIAA or anything. Anyhoo, rest assured we’re working on getting the video put back up again (this time giving credit to the musicians who made it possible).

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t worry… if this turns out the way I’m hoping, I’ll be adding a lot more details in future posts!

Update: Almost ready to actually embed the video right here on matthewebel.com. Stay tuned!

Back in Boston, Back in the Studio

Just a brief note from my morning office. Where it’s cold. And caffeinated. I want to know what kind of music YOU want to hear!

The Myxercycle Part Five – Advances in Butt Technology

The electric bike has become a regular part of life for me now… but repetitive jolts to the hindquarters don’t have to be.

The Myxercycle was made possible by the folks over at Myxer. Go with it!

Join The Conversation (now with Obama Cookies!)

My good friend Whitney Hoffman just stitched together a really cool photo show from some Obama rallies… and she laid it all down on top of “Join The Conversation“. Check it out!

And yes, I want one of those Obama cookies. Mmm, smells like Hope.
